The retro-inspired Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge game is in development at Tribute, with Dotemu publishing. The game will be a side-scrolling beat’em up for up to four players, much like past TMNT arcade and console games. It will also use the original 1987 cartoon designs. A release window isn’t available, but it will come to both unspecified consoles and PCs.

People will follow Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michaelangelo as the quartet cuts through Shredder and his minions. New York is all set as usual, though a Dimension X appearance was teased in the announcement too. The early footage also showed that Bebop and Rocksteady would appear as bosses. The background images also showed April O’Neil reporting on TVs. There were also segments showing their mentor, Master Splinter.

Are you excited about this thrilling gameplay?
As a matter of fact, If you are somehow not familiar, Dotemu and Tribute Games have both made names for themselves for working on retro titles, often with lovely pixel art. Besides, Dotemu, for example, was involved with Streets of Rage 4 and Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap, while Tribute Games developed titles like Panzer Paladin, Flinthook, and Mercenary Kings. In other words, the two companies very much know what they are doing, and they have proved it more than once.
