Amazon Fire TV OS now offers a new customisation tool that allows users to add their own live-TV channels to the main menu’s Live tab. When one wants to watch live programmes again, this handy feature makes it easier to return to one’s favourites. Users can choose from a variety of live channels available on both their free and premium services.

Previously, the live channels were scattered over the screen and could be found under different content categories such as Live Sports and Breaking News.

“Starting today,” Amazon noted in a blog post, “you can now customise your integrated channel guide by bringing up the new ‘Add Channels’ option.”

This is a how-to tutorial for navigating Amazon Fire TV more easily.

Users can personalise the live channel guide by going to the “guide” section of the Live tab on Fire TV or pressing the dedicated guide button on the Alexa Voice remote. By hitting the menu button on the remote, users can access the new “Add Channels” option.

You may quickly add more live channels from your favourite free and subscription-based apps from here,” it continued.
A dedicated guide button is included on all new Alexa Voice Remotes, making it simple to access live TV channels. The guide button will take you to the new integrated channel guide on the Live tab when you press it.

Users can now ask Alexa to hop directly into their live TV favourites by asking it to open the guide or access certain stations, programmes, or events. “Press the Alexa button on your Alexa Voice Remote, or ask Alexa without lifting a finger if you have a hands-free enabled Fire TV device,” Amazon explained.

There are around 20 live channels that support Fire TV in the United States.
