Resident Evil 9 New Rumor Teases Jill Valentine Return.

A new Resident Evil 9 rumor suggests Jill Valentine may be set to return. If true, it would be the first mainline game the character has been in since Resident Evil 5, not including minor appearances in various DLC releases. In other words, it would be a big deal, if true. And for now, we really have to emphasize “if” for a variety of reasons.

Resident Evil 9 New Rumor Teases Jill Valentine Return.

According to prominent Resident Evil leaker Dusk Golem, Jill Valentine may have a prominent role in Resident Evil 9. Why do we say possibly? Well, because the leaker notes they aren’t 100 percent sure of this information, noting the role may be for Resident Evil Outrage.

According to previous rumors, Resident Evil 9 — which has yet to be confirmed — will finish the trilogy that has been so far Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil Village. If this is the case, it’s unclear how or why Jill Valentine would play a prominent role, but it’s certainly possible.

Resident Evil 9 New Rumor

Resident Evil Village is the talk of the town. From House Beneviento to Lady Dumitrescu, the horror game has been making waves ever since it launched. However, while the Resident Evil series has always been hugely popular, Village is a genuine water cooler moment for the gaming world.

Whenever a game is this buzzworthy, one word immediately comes to mind: the sequel. Resident Evil 9 was always going to happen, but it’s especially inevitable now. The village includes a fair amount of setup for whatever will happen next in the continuity.

Capcom has yet to officially say whether or not Resident Evil 9 is in development, but there are many context clues here. We’ll go into this more depth later, but Resident Evil Village ends with a direct teaser that blatantly sets up a direct sequel. Factor in the game’s success, and a follow-up is most assuredly in the cards.

Rumor: Jill Valentine would return in Resident Evil 9

On the speculation front, there have been some notable leaks about the project. Renowned RE leaker Dusk Golem posted a scoop back in April 2020 saying that Resident Evil 9 is closely tied with 7 and Village, with all three serving as a trilogy. Of course, now that we’ve all played Village, that seems more clear than ever before.

The villagers have put down their pitchforks, the vampires are banished back to the crypt, and Donna Beneviento’s creepy dolls are back in their dollhouse. Finally, the credits have rolled on Resident Evil Village and are easily one of the craziest things to come out of the Capcom kitchen. But, of course, players know Village is just the second chapter in a planned Winters trilogy, making it The Empire Strikes Back of the sinister saga.

The Bottom Line

That said, for now, take all of this information, and the speculation on top of it, with a grain of salt. The source in question has proven unreliable in the past, except when it comes to Resident Evil. But, on the other hand, they have proven quite reliable when it comes to the Capcom survival-horror series.

However, all of this is still unofficial information, and the source in question isn’t even entirely sure about the intel themselves. And of course, with the next mainline installment in the series likely a few years away, all of this information may eventually be outdated, even if it’s true at the moment, as things in game development change all the time.

Capcom hasn’t addressed any of this with any comment or statement at the moment of publishing. Typically, it doesn’t comment on rumors, reports, leaks, and anything of the unofficial and speculative variety. So, we don’t expect this to change, but we will update the story accordingly if it does.
