OnePlus partnered with the professional eSports organization. In addition, Fnatic, and as a result, OnePlus 7 devices came with a gamer toolbox dubbed Fnatic mode.
As a matter of fact, OnePlus first collaborated with the professional eSports organization Fnatic on the OnePlus 7 series back in 2019. The partnership resulted in a new gaming mode for OnePlus phones, called Fnatic Mode. Along with an easter egg and a couple of Fnatic-themed wallpapers. Following the OnePlus 7 series launch, the new model gradually rolled out to several older OnePlus phones. It has since remained a crucial part of OxygenOS. But that’s about to change soon.
OnePlus new pro-gaming mode
OnePlus recently started rolling out OxygenOS 11 Open Beta 3 based on Android 11 for the OnePlus 7 series. As per the changelog, the update only included a couple of optimizations and bug fixes. it also brings a change for the Fnatic Mode. The gaming mode has been renamed to “Pro gaming Mode” in the latest Open Beta release.
Since the company hadn’t made any official announcements regarding this change, we dug into the release to confirm the change. And we found several new “Pro gaming Mode” strings in the OnePlus Games app. We then reached out to OnePlus for a comment on the status of its partnership with Fnatic, and we received the following statement.

Users of OnePlus devices who have enjoyed our Fnatic mode will continue to receive the same features and capabilities but under a new Pro Gaming Mode name. The naming update will transition across devices starting from the 6 series. Fnatic has been a supportive partner to OnePlus, and we look forward to the opportunity to collaborate again in the future.”
What is Fnatic Mode?
The Fnatic Mode is a kind of enhanced gaming mode jointly designed by OnePlus and Fnatic (an eSports organizer), and it is first introduced on OnePlus 7 Pro phones. Once the Fnatic Mode is enabled, your phone will block all notifications and disable the second SIM card to enhance the main SIM card network. Also, to boost the gaming performance, some other apps on your phone may run abnormally.
How to enable Fnatic Mode
To turn on the Fnatic Mode on phones, you just need to follow these steps:
Step 1. Go to Settings – Utilities – Gaming mode.
Step 2. On the gaming mode page, scroll down to “Automatically Turn on for These Apps” section.
Step 3. Click “Add apps for Gaming mode” and check off all the apps you want to use the Gaming Mode.
Step 4. Then tap the back arrow once to return to the main screen. Then you will see all the game list that you have added to the Gaming Mode.
Step 5. Switch the “Fnatic Mode” toggle to turn on. And you can also turn on the “Gaming display enhancement” to enhance the light and dark details of the gaming display.
Step 6. Enjoy playing games in the Fnatic Mode.
Alternatively, you can also pull down the notification bar and tap the gaming mode – enable “Fnatic Mode” toggle to activate the Fnatic Mode when playing games.
