New MacBook Pros is coming soon; although Apple revealed the iPhone 13, 13 Mini, 13 Pro, and 13 Pro Max at its September launch event last week, anticipation for its next event is already growing. The latest buzz comes from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who says new MacBook Pro models and the AirPods 3 are expected to debut by the end of this year.
Responding to a question about new Macs on Twitter, Gurman previously said he expects “there will be two events” from Apple this fall, as usual, and the second event could focus on new Mac models and more iPads. However, Gurman has since said he expects several products to arrive in 2022: the new AirPods Pro, an updated iPad Pro, revamped Mac Pros, and MacBook Airs with Apple Silicon.
Apple unveiled its new iPhone 13 lineup alongside the Apple Watch 7, iPad Mini 6, and updated entry-level iPad at its September event. The iPhone 13 lineup mirrors last year’s iPhone 12 collections with standard, Mini, Pro, and Pro Max versions. The updated iPhone runs on iOS 15 and features a few camera upgrades, upped storage, a new A15 Bionic processor, and more.

Before Apple’s latest launch event, the company hosted two other events earlier in 2021. The first event was in April, where we saw new iPad upgrades, colorful iMacs, Air Tag trackers, a purple iPhone 12, and more. (Here’s everything Apple announced in the spring.) Then, two months later, it held the annual WWDC developer event, where we saw the first look at iOS 15, macOS Monterey (aka MacOS 12), Watch OS 8, and iPadOS 15.
But what about this rumored October Apple event? Will we see a new MacBook Pro or the AirPods 3? New Macs? Read on for everything we know so far about a potential fourth Apple event happening this fall, including a rumored date and which products Apple could unveil. We’ll update this story as new information becomes available.
New MacBook Pros
It doesn’t look like we will have long to wait for the new MacBooks to launch.
Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman publishes a newsletter for his subscribers every weekend. On the weekend before the launch of the iPhone 13, he wrote that the new MacBook Pro models with mini-LED screens and M1X processor are ready to end up on store shelves “within a few weeks.”
In response to a question on Twitter, Gurman answers that he expects that it will present the new MacBook Pro and a new iPad mini at a second Apple event.
We expect that this second Apple event will happen in October 2021, although there is a chance that it may slip to November.
It certainly looks like Apple is gearing up to launch the new MacBook Pro models. Code in the seventh beta version of macOS Monterey indicates that there will be two new screen resolutions coming, likely to be the 14in and 16in MacBook Pro models (more on the screen resolution below).
The inclusion of these new resolutions in the beta indicates that the new MacBooks could arrive around the time of the latest version latest macOS, which is also expected in October.
Even more, evidence that MacBook Pro models are coming soon: Apple has listed two new Mac models with the Eurasian Economic Commission. The ECC database lists two new Macs: A2442 and A2485. It is likely these listings likely represented 16in MacBook Pro models. Read more here: Apple registers new Mac models in the database.
The 14in MacBook Pro has been rumored forrumoredme. In 2020 TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo even suggested that the 14in MacBook Pro would be here by the end of 2020. Still, he lat. Still, heed his forecast – indicating that Apple’s plans had been pushed back to 2021 because the company wanted to use mini-LED displays in the new models. There w. There’s with supply due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Then a May 2021 Bloomberg report indicated that a redesigned 14in MacBook Pro and a new 16in MacBook Pro could debut in the summer of 2021, so we were hopeful that the new MacBook Pro models would appear at WWDC 2021 on 7 June. However, the event came and went with no hardware announcements at all.
A June 2021 report from Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman claimed the new MacBook Pro will not appear until the autumn. He said that at Apple, “all attention is on the fall.”
In a newsletter in July (subscription required), Gurman further emphasized that Apple will launch new MacBook Pro models between September and November this year.
