iMac Pro Going out of business After 4 Years

If you are an iMac pro fan and still thinking of buying it or not, then you need to hurry. Why? Because Apple on late Friday evening announced that their silicon chip iMac pro would no longer be available to buy once their stock gets over.

Apple added a “while supplies last” notice to its product page. They also removed all upgrade options for the pro, leaving only the standard configuration (27-inch) available to order for now.

Apple also said that the latest 27-inch iMac introduced in August is the preferred choice for the vast majority of its users. Apple suggested that those customers who need even more performance can choose the Mac Pro. The Mac Pro comes with greater functionality and power, enabling it to outperform both the iMac Pro and iMac.

Features of iMac pro

The 27-inch Pro features a 5K display with a True Tone and nano-texture glass option. It constitutes up to a 10-core 10th-generation Intel Core i9 processor, up to 128GB of RAM, and up to 8TB of internal storage. It also comes up with AMD Radeon Pro 5700 XT graphics, a 10 Gigabit Ethernet option, a higher-resolution 1080p camera, improved speakers, and microphones, and more.

What’s Next?

Apple is expected to rebuild the standard iMac with a brand new design and switch to ARM-based Silicon sometime this year. This new machine then is expected to outperform every currently available iMac configuration.

Launched in 2017, the iMac Pro was always a bit of a stop-gap solution before the company started work on the Mac Pro. Now with both the iMac and Mac Pro expected to switch to Apple Silicon, there isn’t much need for a separate iMac Pro in the lineup.
