IKEA Is Releasing a Lineup of Cyberpunk Gaming Furniture. Holy cheap Swedish meatballs, everybody! IKEA—that store where you bought that one dresser that works well enough for now—is coming out with a line of gaming furniture.
The lineup includes everything from ring lamps to sleek, ergonomic chairs, and it’s all very cyberpunk in style. You may even have to dye your hair some zany color to nail the entire motif.
IKEA Is Releasing a Lineup of Cyberpunk
Ikea’s gaming-themed furniture and accessories lineup now have official pricing and a global release date: October. The lineup first came to China earlier this year to collaborate with Asus and its Republic of Gamers (ROG) brand.
Pricing for the lineup ranges from cheap desk accessories like a $10 cup holder or $12.99 mouse bungee up to gaming chairs costing between $69 and $349 and a $599 standing desk. Oh, and that wooden hand designed to cradle your headphones and other accessories gently? That’ll set you back $24.99.

There are more than 30 Ikea gaming products in total, arranged across six product families. However, only one of these product families, Uppspel, contains products designed in collaboration with Asus. The rest are Ikea originals with designs “based on the insights and knowledge gained from the collaboration to meet the various needs of gamers,” the retailer says.
Much of the range looks like ordinary Ikea furniture, given an aggressive black makeover. Still, Ikea has a good track record of making affordable generic versions of expensive products that could make certain accessories like the $34.99 Lånespelare Ring Light worth a look.
Let’s explore the IKEA collections.
Design Taxi reported on IKEA’s new furniture lineup, which it has developed with ASUS’ Republic of Gaming (or ROG) division. ROG, as Wikitubia notes, is an ASUS subdivision that focuses on different types of computer hardware, including computers and accessories aimed at gamers. (ASUS is a multinational computer and phone hardware maker known for its gaming computers.)
The lineup look is subjective, but there’s no doubt that IKEA and ROG have zeroed in on that “live streamer” vibe. The desktop ring lamps, for example, look like they’re great for blasting that quintessential modern-day limelight. And for just around $35 too! The accent LED lights also help set the mood for a night full of Twitch and poor beverage decisions.
Unfortunately, IKEA only has a couple of desks, a ring lamp, and a small storage unit available for perusal online right now. This means it’s hard to estimate how much a room full of this gaming furniture may cost. Although we’re guessing around $1,000? A gaming desk is about $300 alone, and the storage unit is $170. And YouTube knows how many ring lamps people will need. It’s what makes a selfie a “self-portrait,” after all.
IKEA says it’ll drop the full lineup online and in stores in October of this year. There doesn’t seem to be a list of coming products, but everything in the photos above is probably purchasable. One thing we’d like to see IKEA add, however, is a safe, prominent place to put our meatball scented candles.

The Bottom Line
While people have been using Ikea stuff in the gaming space forever, I’m sitting on an Ikea office chair and using an Ikea desk—the Swedish company has never gone to the trouble of releasing dedicated gaming furniture before. However, that’s about to change.
In collaboration with ASUS’ ROG, in October, Ikea will release a new collection called the “gaming range,” which will include everything from chairs to accessories to desks to storage solutions.
While some of the stuff is simply existing Ikea products given a GAMER facelift (like the pegboard setup below), other items are heavily customized or even new just for the collab.
