Amid rumors that the Apple Watch Series 7 could go on sale within weeks, new images were shared with MacRumors, reportedly showing off the new Apple Watch in the wild, giving us our first authentic look at Apple’s latest watch.
The images were initially posted to a Facebook group for Apple Watch enthusiasts but have since been removed. The poster of the photos claimed they work for a carrier that was testing the Series 7 before it officially went on sale “later this fall.”
We’ve only seen the Series 7 in Apple’s marketing and promotional materials so far, and the company hasn’t announced a date for when it will be available for purchase. Apple today announced Apple Watch Series 7, featuring a re-engineered Always-On Retina display with significantly more screen area and thinner borders, making it the largest and most advanced collection ever. In addition, the narrower frames allow the group to maximize the screen area while minimally changing the watch’s dimensions.
In addition, the design of the Apple Watch Series 7 is refined with softer, more rounded corners, and the display has a unique refractive edge that makes full-screen watch faces and apps appear to connect with the curvature of the case seamlessly.
Apple Watch Series 7 also features a user interface optimized for the larger display, offering more excellent readability and ease of use, plus two unique watch faces — Contour and Modular Duo — designed specifically for the new device.
With the improvements to the display, users benefit from the same all-day 18-hour battery life, now complemented by 33 percent faster charging. In addition, Apple Watch Series 7 is the most durable Apple Watch ever, with a more potent, more crack-resistant front crystal.
It is the first Apple Watch to have an IP6X certification for dust resistance and maintain a WR50 water resistance rating. In addition, the newest Apple Watch continues to offer indispensable tools for health and wellness, including an electrical heart sensor and ECG app.
